Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques.
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Take dental X-rays (radiographs), ensuring high-quality images while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and safety.
  • Manage medical documentation and records using EMR systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Assist with medical imaging using advanced equipment like 3D scanners when necessary for comprehensive diagnostics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment following infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Support general dentistry and oral surgeons practices by providing compassionate care.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting duties.
  • Certification in dental radiography (X-ray certification) is required.
  • Knowledge of Open Dental for managing records efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance is essential.

Havertown - Registered Dental Hygienist

We are a general dentist office located in Havertown, PA. This modern long-standing office has been serving the local community for decades and we have a lovely patient base. We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive preventative and wellness care to all our patients.

We are looking for a part-time enthusiastic dental hygienist who is a team-player. We have established a fun, collaborative culture in the office and want someone who can fit right in.

Positional Requirements:
Mondays 8am to 5pm and Tuesdays 8-6pm

Additional responsibilities of the Dental Hygienist include:

  • Performing scaling and root plannings on periodontal patients

  • Intra-oral photo experience

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant with an active X-ray license to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of infection control and medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment specializing in high quality care. The Dental Assistant will be instrumental in providing exceptional patient care through chairside assisting, dental imaging, and maintaining accurate dental records. Needed hours is Tuesday and Thursday 7:45am to 5:15pm, with an optional day being Wednesday 7:45am to 5:15pm.
